Today is a great day for any fans of the old continuity in Star Wars comics!

This morning, ScreenRant.com has reported the return of the publishing company Dark Horse Comics to the Star Wars franchise, claiming that new stories will be told “from the High Republic to the rise of the First Order”.
When Disney purchased Lucasfilm in 2012, it was announced 2 years later that Marvel Comics would take back the mantle of the main comic publishing for Star Wars, and the 23 year partnership with Dark Horse would come to an end. Well, somehow, Dark Horse has returned, with all new stories coming as early as next year.
It is unclear which titles will be coming to the company, however we can expect them to be from all eras of the galaxy, including the ongoing initiative of The High Republic.
Dark Horse spoke on the news, telling screenrant:
”Dark Horse Comics has a rich history publishing Star Wars comics and graphic novels. Star Wars is near and dear to all of our hearts and I've been a fan since I saw the original film nineteen times during its original release. I am thrilled that Dark Horse will once again bring new stories to life from this incredible galaxy and I'm not exaggerating when I say we can't wait to bring these new adventures to fans of every age.”
Lucasfilm also spoke on the matter, saying:
“All of us at Lucasfilm Publishing are thrilled to be working with Mike Richardson (CEO and Founder) and everyone at Dark Horse on comics and original graphic novels set in a galaxy far, far away. There are unlimited storytelling possibilities for all ages comics, and we look forward to collaborating with Dark Horse - and with the best writers and artists in the industry - to bring those stories to readers and fans all over the world.”
It will be interesting to see how these companies will work alongside each other, as ScreenRant confirms that Marvel and IDW will also be keeping their licenses as well. As for these stories, we will have to see what is in store for Star Wars fans next year…
